The month of August has been an interesting month in the Mluwati Concession. The camps have been going through some changes and the game viewing has been good.
The month started off with changes to the team with Gary Segal and Yanica Carter coming in as the new General Managers for Imbali Safari Lodges and Rob Janish and Jocelyn Hannsen joining the team as the new Imbali camp managers. The new blood in the concession is adding a new dimension and a fresh feel to the lodges.
Imbali Safari Lodges has had a good month in all aspects. The new team is vibrant and energetic and that carries out through the lodge. Imbali is becoming just as comfortable as home but with all the little luxuries that make Imbali so special, from the relaxing Jacuzzis to the friendly service and warm smiles provided by our eager staff.
The game viewing around camp has been good, with the water hole in front of camp there has been a constant move of animals around the camp. The dainty, sleek impala, the huge elephant bull, the beautiful and mighty pride of lions and more, have all been visiting to quench their thirst at the waterhole. This has been a real bonus for our guests who are able to sit on the deck and watch these amazing animals in their natural environment. We have had one curious elephant bull who decided to investigate the swimming pool and discovered a source of water. He would grace our guests with his presence as he drank from the swimming pool and watched everyone as they in turn sat and watched him. We have also been lucky to be able to watch a female cheetah with her two cubs just outside camp and have had some wonderful leopard sightings out on drive.
August for all of us, guests and staff alike, has been an unforgettable month
